About Us

Who We Are

ClimaFacts is a student-led non-profit organization founded by a team of environmental enthusiasts and climate change advocates. This project was started in St. John’s, NL, with the intent to promote information and research relevant to Atlantic Canadians.

What We Do

ClimaFacts aims to achieve our goals by summarizing complex climate change / environmental research in an easy-to-understand and bias-free manner, allowing an audience of the general Atlantic Canadian public to make their own informed decisions.

Inspiration

Climate change is no longer a distant threat. Every day, new challenges arise as a result of climate change across the globe. This is directly evidenced by the increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters, rising sea levels, and increase of global temperatures. These changes have caused countless individuals to lose their homes, communities, and for some, their lives.

As changes in our environment that result from climate change become more common, it is necessary for everyone to have a platform where they are able to find current information not just about what is happening in our environment, but why it is happening as well. ClimaFacts strives to provide such a platform for Atlantic Canadians.

Mission

ClimaFacts Atlantic is committed to enhancing public knowledge on environmental climate change issues among Atlantic Canadians by providing an accessible resource about scientific climate research, promoting informed discussions and positive change.
