INTRODUCTION
A challenging aspect of climate change to understand is that it doesn’t just affect singular weather events. It’s a larger trend, making various natural disasters more severe, frequent, and dangerous. Recently, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has been employing a new method they call the rapid extreme weather attribution system to determine how much human activities have contributed to a given heat wave, using a variety of tools and factors.

INFORMATION AND SIGNIFICANCE
The article starts by noting that understanding the risks and causes of climate change is very important since it helps in decision-making, leading to a better ability to protect communities.. The main weather event discussed is June’s series of heat waves that hit eastern and central Canada, as this is the first time ECCC has publicized their findings using this method. The results were that these sorts of heat waves have been made significantly more common because of human-induced atmospheric changes.
The article then touches on the methodology by running a pair of computer simulations against each other. It compares simulations between two climate conditions, before the Industrial Revolution and the present climate.
